Hello and welcome! My name is Courtney Stone, MA, LPC, NCC, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Alabama. I adhere to the ethical guidelines set forth by the American Counseling Association and Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling, and I am a National Certified Counselor. I currently practice via teletherapy within the state of Alabama. I’m honored that you’re considering this step toward growth and healing, and I look forward to walking alongside you in this process.

I hold dual Master of Arts degrees from The University of Alabama—one in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and another in Women’s Studies with a concentration in Race and Gender Studies. I also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a Minor in Addiction and Recovery from The University of Alabama as well. My academic and clinical training has shaped a counseling approach that is both evidence-based and client-centered, as well as rooted in cultural humility, social justice, and deep respect for the uniqueness of each individual’s experience.

My clinical work focuses on supporting adults navigating a wide range of life experiences, with specialized interest and experience working with trauma and complex PTSD, grief and loss, neurodiversity, and LGBTQIA+ identities, with a particular focus on transgender and gender-expansive clients. I strive to provide a therapeutic space for clients that is gender-affirming, trauma-informed, and neurodiverse-affirming.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and integrate trauma-informed practices throughout my work. My approach is relational, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s goals and needs. Whether you are processing past trauma, exploring identity, coping with loss, or seeking greater self-understanding, my goal is to provide a supportive environment where you feel safe, empowered, and genuinely seen.
